Terms of Use
Last updated: 31 August 2026
These terms govern your use of the ShutIt application ("ShutIt", "the app"). By downloading or using ShutIt, you agree to them. If you obtained ShutIt through the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms, Apple's EULA governs.
1. License
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ShutIt on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service.
2. Acceptable use
Please don't reverse-engineer, decompile, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law, and don't use it in a way that breaks the law or interferes with others.
3. Your content
ShutIt lets you set a custom sound from an audio file you supply. You are responsible for having the right to use any file you add. ShutIt does not upload, share, or transmit your files anywhere; they stay on your device.
4. The app affects sleep behavior
To play your sound before sleep, ShutIt manages when your Mac goes to sleep around a lid close. Using the app is at your own discretion; you are responsible for saving your work and for how you use your computer.
5. No warranty
ShutIt is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, ShutIt.
7. Changes
We may update ShutIt and these terms from time to time. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. The current version is always posted on this page.
