Terms of Use

Licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, redistribute, rent, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

Subscriptions

Therian Shift includes one free shift. Continued use requires a subscription: £8.99 per week, following a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.

How many shifts a subscription includes. A subscription allows up to 15 shifts in any rolling 24-hour period, per device. The limit is applied automatically and keeps the service affordable to run. It is not a calendar day: each shift you make frees up again 24 hours after you made it, so if you reach the limit your allowance returns gradually through the following day rather than resetting all at once at midnight. The subscription is not described as unlimited. We may change this allowance, and any change will be reflected on this page.

Prices shown are for the United Kingdom and may vary by region; the price applicable to you is always shown in the App before you confirm.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
• If you subscribe during a free trial, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited at the moment of purchase.
• Free trials are offered once per Apple Account, at Apple's discretion.

Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.

The two modes

The App has two separate modes and you can switch between them at any time.

• Therian mode produces a photorealistic image of you shifted towards an animal, at the strength you choose.
• Furry mode produces an anthropomorphic character illustration — a fursona — based on you, in the art style you choose, including a fursuit option that shows you in a costume.

Neither mode produces, and neither may be used to request, sexual or fetish imagery. See Acceptable use below.

AI-generated images

The App transforms a photograph of you into an animal, part-animal or anthropomorphic character form using a third-party AI service. The result is an artwork. It is not a photograph, not a prediction, and not a depiction of anything that exists.

Generated images can be wrong, distorted, unflattering, or not the animal you asked for. Species that look alike are confused more often than others. Do not rely on the App where accuracy matters.

You keep whatever rights you have in the photographs you provide. You are responsible for having the right to use every photograph you upload. Do not upload a photograph of another person without their agreement, and never upload a photograph of a child.

You are responsible for how you use the images the App produces. Do not present them as real photographs of a real person, and do not use them to impersonate, harass or mislead.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to upload unlawful, abusive or sexual content, images of children, or images you have no right to use; not to attempt to bypass the App's limits or paywall; and not to interfere with, overload or attack our servers.

No sexual or fetish content, in either mode. You must not use the custom instructions, or any other part of the App, to attempt to generate nudity, sexualised bodies or poses, or fetish imagery, whether of yourself or anyone else. Requests of this kind are refused automatically, and attempting them may cost you access. You must never submit a photograph of a child in any mode.

We may limit or withdraw access where the App is being misused.

Privacy

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated images will meet your expectations.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Apple

This agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, any failure to conform to a legal requirement, or claims under consumer protection law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Age

Therian Shift is not intended for children under 13, and you must be old enough to hold an Apple Account and agree to these terms in your country of residence.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above. Your licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, and you may end it at any time by deleting the App.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EU you may also bring proceedings in your country of residence.
